Super Bowl Bound Quarterback and Two-Time NFL MVP to Work With Acclaim to Make QBC '98 Best Football Video Game Ever

Glen Cove, NY, January 22, 1997 -- Acclaim Entertainment Inc. (NASDAQ: AKLM), a leading world wide interactive entertainment company, today announced that it has signed the Green Bay Packers' Brett Favre to an exclusive endorsement deal. The Super Bowl-bound Favre will serve as the spokesperson for Acclaim's new football video game, NFL Quarterback Club '98, which is scheduled for release in Fall of 1997. Favre has been selected by Acclaim to follow in the footsteps of NFL greats, Dan Marino of the Miami Dolphins and Steve Young of the San Francisco 49ers, who have been featured in past campaigns.

"It's an honor to be selected as Acclaim's featured quarterback in NFL Quarterback Club '98," said Favre. "I look forward to working with the Acclaim sports team to create the best football game ever."

As part of the Quarterback Club '98 endorsement deal, which marks the first time he has backed a video game, Favre will appear on the game's packaging and advertising, appear at special events on behalf of the game as well as contribute input to the game's development.

"We are all very excited to be working with Brett," said Bob Picunko, Acclaim sports marketing director. "Brett has helped the Green Bay Packers build a new football dynasty and we're looking forward to working with him to build a new sports video game dynasty with NFL Quarterback Club '98."

Officially licensed by the NFL, Players Inc. and the NFL Quarterback Club, QBC '98 features exclusive tips and hints from the NFL Quarterback Club members; roster management options such as trading, creating, drafting and signing players, and the play-by-play announcing of a nationally known broadcaster. Acclaim's NFL Quarterback Club was the first game to include revolutionary new game features including numbers on player jerseys, logos on player helmets, and motion capture player graphics that actually wrap their arms around the ballcarrier and drag them to the ground.

Favre, who was recently awarded his second consecutive NFL Most Valuable Player Award, passed for an NFC record 39 touchdowns during the 1996 season. In 1997, the four-time Pro-Bowl selection led the Packers to the Super Bowl for the first time since Super Bowl II in 1968. Favre was a second-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 1991, and was traded to the Packers in 1992.
