Las Vegas, NV, October 30, 1997 - Westwood Studios, a leading publisher of CD-ROM and videogame titles, today released the ultimate real-time strategy game collection, the Command & Conquer Red Alert Domination Pack. The Domination Pack features the best selling Red Alert, the game's missions discs Counterstrike and The Aftermath, as well as a special Red Alert audio CD. The Domination Pack is available for a special price at retailers nationwide.
Command & Conquer Red Alert is one of the best selling brands in computer gaming history, with more than 2 million units sold since its debut in November 1996. The title's first mission disc, Counterstrike, recently became the industry's fastest selling add-on pack, with sales of more than 700,000 units in five months. Westwood released The Aftermath, the second Red Alert missions disc, in October 1997 to critical acclaim.
In Red Alert, players are thrust into an alternate reality where Stalin, instead of Hitler, rises to power. Gamers have the option to play as either the Allies or the Soviets. Each side has unique weaponry and technology that drives the distinct strategies players need to win. With more than 40 missions, fully rendered sequences, and live action video footage, Red Alert promises players hours of exciting and addictive game play.
In Counterstrike, gamers can play 16 all-new missions to decide the ultimate fate of the Allies and the Soviets. Also included are 100 multiplayer maps and several new units including Tesla tanks, self-defending ore trucks, elite Soviet commandos and more nuclear weapons.
The Aftermath escalates the action with new features, weapons and hidden secrets, larger multiplayer maps, eight new music tracks, and seven new units including Chronosphere Tank, Demolition Truck, Tesla Tank, for solo and multiplayer modes In The Aftermath, gamers can play 18 all-new missions in the battle of the Allies versus the Soviets and wage multiplayer war on 100 new maps.
